Thymol Nail Prep step1, same great product as our regular nail prep except this has a high percentage of Thymol (5%) as well. This is a revolutionary idea and saves on first using Thymol and after a prep. Please do note thymol nail prep takes a few seconds longer to evaporate. This is quite normal as it allows the thymol more time to do its magic.

Step 1 Nail prep is used to gently dehydrate the natural nail bed and remove naturally occuring oils. Use prep for better adhesion for gel, acrylic and glued tips. Thymol nail prep has the added advantage of having Thymol as well. It is as a result a great idea to use in the prevention of bacterial or fungal infection. Apply Thymol Nail Prep step1 to dehydrate and cleanse the nail plate. Thymol Nail Prep step1 is formulated with ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, and isopropyl alcohol. It also contains a propriety blend of special cleansing, non hazardous cleansing ingredients. How do these ingredients work? Once they come in contact with the nail plate, they draw out moisture and oil like a sponge, evaporating them off the nail plate and leaving a chalky white finish. By doing this, the primer doesn’t have to fight moisture and oils to do its job.

How does Thymol assist?

QD Thymol Nail Prep contains 5% Thymol which is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of and kills microorganisms. Some of the most common microorganisms are fungus, mould and other bacterial nail infections. A highly effective treatment, at a concentration of 4% for nail fungus and loose nails, is Thymol . In contrast QD uses 5% concentration, which makes it 20% more effective.

Add to that pure laboratory gradeThymol 5% and you have a winner! What is the point of all this? Nails are naturally oily and come into contact with all manner of foreign objects, this cause an oily layer and even a wash with hand sanitiser cannot remove this layer. Simple acetone or alcohols do not work well either. This is because there are different types of oils and pollutants. What you need is a combination of the perfect ingredients. Once they come in contact with the nail plate, they draw out moisture and oil like a sponge, totally removing them. Hence by doing this, the primer has the correct environment to do it’s magic.
